Willkommen to a crack-filled musical (theatre!) tribute to Doctor Who's magnificent Martha Jones! There's plenty of the Doctor, too, and special guest star Capatain Jack as the irrepressible 'Elsie'.

So, I've been making a series of Doctor Who musical theatre tributes (see here and here). This is the latest. Clips are through the end of season 3; the song is "One Day More!" from Les Misérables.
What do you get when you cross the world's longest running TV franchise with the West End's longest running musical? This, apparently:

(.mov, 66mb, megaupload)

(lower quality)
Is it a satirical comment on the self-important melodrama of the new Whoniverse? Or is it a sensitive character study founded in pseudo-historical parallelism and classic literary allusion?
Whatever you decide, I hope you'll enjoy it. Comments are ♥! :-)

I had to rec this. My wonderfully talented sister made this fanvid a few days ago dedicated to Jess and Luke from "Gilmore Girls" and the gloriously functional dysfunction of their relationship. It's totally brilliant, not least because Jess and Luke were just about my favourite thing about the show, which is, of course, highly ironic, because I thoroughly disliked both characters in isolation from one another. Anyway, anyone who's either a Milo fan or a "Gilmore Girls" fan, or both, go check out the vid because I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. It's funny, heartfelt, and generally perfect.
LUKE: When did I loan you ten bucks?
JESS: Last night.
LUKE: I wasn’t here last night.
JESS: You’re always here, Uncle Luke - in my heart.
Luke and Jess - I'll Be There For You
JESS: Last night.

Proof positive that Jack Nicholson WINS AT LIFE!
(as if there was ever any doubt)

The enthusiastic response evoked by this little vid confirmed for me a truth that seems, in retrospect, thoroughly elementary:
Doctor Who + musical theatre = all kinds of WIN!
Armed with this knowledge and a healthy dose of procrastination, I now offer the next in what I hope to be a series of Doctor Who musical tributes. The subject here is Ten/Rose, though I suspect that both shippers and non-shippers alike can appreciate it. Music is from the ‘90s Broadway revival of Guys ‘n’ Dolls.

And because some people have requested it, here is an mp3 of the version of "You Can't Stop the Beat" that I used for the vid. It's my own personal edit, with the middle two verses snipped out for brevity. The result is quite peppy, if I do say so myself! :-)

I’ve uploaded the soundtrack to the classic film Little Shop of Horrors for anyone who wants it. Download links and explanation below the cut.

So, has anyone else attempted to follow the Blue Peter Dalek Cake recipe? It's surprisingly harder than it looks! None the less, this was the final week of first school term here in Australia, and my mum tutors gifted students, many of whom are (naturally!) huge Doctor Who fans. When we showed one of our boys the little Blue Peter segment, he decided that he really wanted to give it a go for his final class before the break. So, we did! And of course, we had enough ingredients to make 2 of them (through my own cunning planning) so I had to make one too! You know, to use up all the extra cake and icing and smarties. ;-)
Seriously, he's 8 and I'm 21, but I really think I was even more excited than our little student was XD
ANYWAY, I come bearing pics of our efforts! :D Below the cut for space (and time)...

Picked this up over at

Oooh, and I won this too over at
tennant_stills! It's an honourable mention, but I was really proud of this icon so I think it's uber shiny anyway. :D
Of course, the text was just a random brush that fit the space I wanted,so...yeah, I have no idea what it says. Could be dirty for all I know. I mean, it's Chinese? Or Japanese? It looks more Chinese to me, I think. But hey Heather, if you're reading this and it's indeed the latter you could probably translate it for me... :-)
